Lois Kay Cullop, of Dublin, Virginia gained her angel wings on October 3, 2019 after a life of inspiring people here on Earth. Kay’s life was spent with a continual smile and a contagious laugh that brought joy to those around her. Always the social butterfly, she enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends, going to ‘school’ and church, as well as greeting people wherever she went. She was blessed with the ability to find excitement in everyday things, especially ‘choo-choo’ trains, ‘kitty cats’, firetrucks, and one of her all-time favorites, a strawberry milkshake. However, her life was full of adventures from road trips to visit family in Washington County and Glen Allen, to winter trips to Florida, to being the Grand Marshal of the Dublin Christmas Parade. Her zest for life and the simple things inspired everyone and will be sorely missed.
Kay is preceded in death by her father, Harold Cullop and grandparents, Thomas and Josephine Cullop and Morgan and Mildred Parker. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Eleanor Cullop of Dublin; sister and brother-in-law Susan and Billy Caldwell of Riner, VA; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and JoAnn Cullop of Glen Allen, VA; nephews and nieces, Ben Cullop (Ashley) and their children, Elizabeth and Thomas, of Charlottesville, VA, Daniel Cullop (Ben Harguth) currently in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Shelly Caldwell of Riner, VA, Seth Cullop (Lily Brookman) of Charlottesville, VA, and Jenna Cullop of Glen Allen, VA; uncle and aunt, Sidney and Patsy Parker of Glade Spring, VA; cousins Donna Addington and Angie Sells and their families; as well as special friends Ed and Jill Hart, Beulah Webb, and Curtis and Doris Bland. A very special thanks to New River Community Services, especially Tessa Aycock and Annie Frasier for their continual support and friendship, as well as the outstanding care provided by Twin County Regional Hospital and the Mountain Valley Hospice Home.
